Nebula Award winners 2015

So I'm a bit late to the party, but the Nebula award winners have been announced by the SFWA. Link here.

Looks like a sweep for female sci fi writers. Its nice to see an award system working without all the politics and machinations that have beleaguered the Hugos.

I would have picked Ex Machina over Mad Max personally. But I suspect my dislike of Mad Max is partially due to living in Australia at the time and hearing nothing but endless conformist praise in the media for months on end.

After investigating the plant that the 'Jeri" model android is manufactured in, Kusanagi believes that a hacker introduced a virus into the mainframe, probably by having an infected Jeri sent in for repairs. The Jeri Model android was technologically obsolete even upon introduction. It's cult following stems from its good looks and 'cute' personality. Through a process of elimination, Section 9 discover that the culprit is Marshall McLachlan, the son of the Canadian ambassador to Japan. Marshall is in love with his 'Jeri', whom he considers a real person. His motive for killing off the other Jeri androids is to ensure that his Jeri is unique. The adventures of Anders the halfing monk - welcome to the jungle

So... I might not have mentioned that on top of this arctic tundra mountain top was a thriving and verdant jungle biome? And that the city of Ustraternes was a massive partly floating ruin? Super weird. Anyhow. After beating the snot out of that snake woman, the group doubled back and caught up with Darge. We then headed deep into the jungle on a mission to reach Ustraternes. With a bit of luck, we would find the magic relic we are looking for and could be back down the mountain by dinnertime. On our way, we came across a burned-down village full of wailing lizardfolk. The lizardfolk told us that a bunch of them had been made captive and taken to Ustraternes for god knows what evil purpose. We managed to persuade the lizardfolk that they should come with us (cannon fodder!). We eventually came to Ustraternes and were faced with a choice - do we kick in the front door or find an alternative route?
