Jared Leto Joins Blade Runner Sequel

I'm become less and less enthused about the new Blade Runner sequel every time a new piece of information comes out. This time, it is the news that Jared Leto will join the line up as a “memorable, never before seen By Nicolas Genin CC2.0 character.” Now, it's not the part about a new character that bothers me, it's the "memorable" part I'm worried about. This is the guy that takes character acting to a whole new cringe-tastic level, and who tends to make any movie he stars in about him, rather than the plot. With the likely financial bust of the Ben Hur remake  and Ghostbusters, I would have thought that Hollywood would be a bit more cautious about trashing cherished classics. In any event, I'm unlikely to watch the new Bladerunner. Why would I when there are literally thousands of new and original Sci Fi stories being made across print and film every year?

Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex E07 Idolator

"Is a ship that has been restored by replacing every single wooden part still the same ship?" Episode 7 Marcelo Jarti is a revolutionary leader that closely resembles the real life and mythos of Che Guevara. Jarti was instrumental in the liberation of the State of Jenoma, but instead of taking up as the nation’s leader he continued to fight for the liberation of countries across the world. Jarti is also a notorious drug lord, which he undertakes to fund his liberation movement. We are told that his death has been reported on six separate occasions, and in each case, he has been able to appear unscathed later in time. Jarti makes regular visits to Japan, where he is a national hero, but the Department of State suspects the true motivation for his regular visits has to do with drug production. It is widely reported that Marcelo Jarti, leader of the Jenoma Revolutionary movement, has been assassinated by the United States Empire – this time the assassination i

Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex E05 Decoy

"I'll work you all like dogs" Episode 5 A former Serano Genomics employee, Nanao, is suspected by the police of being the person behind the Laughing Man identity. Section 9 is unsure whether or not the Laughing Man even exists, and specifically, believes that the former employer is a scapegoat to disguise high-level police corruption.  When the police commissioner gives a public speech, members of his bodyguard are cyber-hacked and attempt to assassinate him. To make matters worse, members of the public begin to claim that they are the Laughing Man and that they intend to murder the police commissioner.  Section 9 saves the life of the police commissioner, and speculate that the public attempts at assassination are the result of a stand alone complex - a copy of something that never existed in the first place. What I liked This episode gives us a little more information into the personal life of Major Kusanagi. I was actually surprised that she

Eclipse Phase: come forth child Duncan

Last week was my first round with my latest iteration of my ego Child Duncan. This character is inspired by the Marvel character Loki, for those who are not avid readers. A Loki story arc involved an older (and more evil) incarnation of Loki destroying a child-like innocent version of himself. Adult Duncan went through some massive mental upheaval. Slipping into severe paranoia, Adult Duncan committed a terrible atrocity when he murdered a young family who he mistook for Jovian spies. In the chaos, Child Duncan, who had been enslaved by Adult Duncan as a fork, managed to take control of Adult Duncan’s morph. He quickly altered his morph into a flat to avoid Jovian detection. Terrified, Child Duncan confessed his personality to Firewall in the hope of asylum. Firewall have taken him in but barely trust him (-30 to network firewall rolls). Duncan is 8 years old and is very weak willed (willpower 5). His main abilities lie in his skill at deception (85 SKP) and persuasion
